Direct to garment printing technology is relatively new and has many advantages over screen printing, not the least of which is that there are no setup fees due to the streamlined process of transferring ink directly to the garment with the use of a specialized ink jet printer.  Furthermore, the printer is capable of producing extraordinarily high resolution imprints on the garment.  While screen printing only makes financial sense for large quantity orders, the direct to garment printer is ideal for small quantity orders.  There are some disadvantages to using a direct to garment printer including high ink costs and fabric limitations - use of 100% ring spun cotton shirts are highly recommended to produce the sharp images the printer is capable of producing.  The cost of imprinting a garment using our direct to garment printer will generally be higher than the per shirt cost of a screen printed tee. However, the higher costs are offset by the high quality of the imprint, the ability to print a virtually unlimited color palate, combined with minimal setup costs (usually involving cleaning up artwork), small imprint runs using a direct to garment printer can be a cost-effective solution to your customized apparel needs.

If you want to print on mugs, license plates and other popular hard surface items then Dye Sublimation printing is the answer!  Dye Sublimation, as a process, is really very simple.  It is the method of applying an image to specially coated ceramics, metals and polyester cloth, using three main ingredients:  sublimation ink, heat, and pressure.  Sublimation ink is unique in its ability to convert from a solid to a gas without going through a liquid form.  The conversion is initiated by heat and controlled with pressure and time.  Hard items such as ceramic, fiber board, metals, etc. require a special coating to accept the sublimation inks.  The products to be imprinted must have the coating already on them - it is not something you can coat yourself.  (A special thanks to BestBlanks.com for the sublimation primer.)  Logo Lodge works with a number of vendors that supply sublimation blanks (including apparel) - just let us know what you are looking for and we'll provide an estimate within 24 hours of your request.  Dye Sublimation printing is ideal for first-class promotional products, company branding, thank you gifts and more!

Screen printing is best suited for larger quantity orders (a minimum order of 12 garments is required) since each job will incur setup fees (typically artwork fees and a nominal per-screen setup fee).  Significant cost savings can be realized with orders of 36 or more screen printed garments.  Although we do not have a graphics design department, we are able to take most .jpg and .png files (with reasonable resolution) and clean the artwork up and make minor adjustments.  We can screen print on a variety of garment types (t-shirts, polo shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, sweatpants, etc.) and material types (100% cotton, 50-50 Cotton/Poly blend, as well as 100% polyester). We have water-based inks, plastisol (for high blend cotton shirts), poly (for polyester shirts), as well as reflective, glow in the dark, and glitter inks.  Call us today for a quote!

Screen printing is an age-old process in which a design is imposed on a fine mesh screen with blank areas made impermeable, whereby only the artwork is transferred to the apparel.  Ink is forced into the mesh openings by a 'fill blade' or 'squeegee'.  Artwork requiring more than one color uses a screen for each color - depending on the artwork and color of the apparel, an additional screen for a white under-base may be required.  The imprinted clothing article is run through a conveyor belt heating system where the ink is cured at an appropriate temperature and duration.  We have a large number of ink colors in stock and can match your artwork colors using our Pantone color matching process.  Screen printing is an affordable way to outfit your team, classroom, cub den, family reunion, or any large gathering with a keepsake that, if laundered properly, can last for many outings.

Here at Logo Lodge we use CorelDRAW X7 to manipulate the artwork provided by our customers to be suitable for production.  Although we are not a graphics design studio, we  have the skills and capability to enhance customer supplied artwork, provided the artwork meets the requirements noted below.

  • Embroidery:  300 dpi jpeg
  • Screen Printing:  vector files (cdr, ai, eps, pdf)
  • Direct to Garment Printing:  please provide the highest quality image you have.  We recommend a minimum 300 dpi on all jpeg and png files with no background (the background will print).  Note:  the direct to garment printer is a CMYK printer - we cannot guarantee color matching.
  • Sublimation Printing:  we recommend a minimum 300 dpi jpeg or png file or a vector file.  Sublimation printing does not have white ink - the substrate must be white in order for white to show in your imprint.
